Blind Citizens NZ is an advocacy organisation working towards New Zealand becoming a fully inclusive society, where blind, deafblind and vision impaired people can lead rich, full and independent lives with confidence and dignity.

We helped the organisation develop a social awareness campaign to educate more people about the issues faced by the blind community. The campaign identifies six areas where blind people face challenges. It’s a great example of using a very different perspective to gain powerful empathy.

Impacts:

  • Increase awareness of accessibility issues;
  • Get more people talking;
  • Advocate for change at local and central government levels; and
  • Be seen as a champion for accessibility.
